  • Bloggers Beware: You Can Catch A Lawsuit

You don’t want to get sued for pursuing your passion. Helping others should be easy. And you shouldn’t have to stress, worry, or fret at the thought of a lawsuit.

Bloggers get sued all the time over things like incorrect use of images on their website, defamation, privacy concerns and so much more. Amira’s legal bundle covers all the bases (at an affordable price too) so that you can rest assured your website is legally protected.

Before buying her legal bundle, I spent a copious amount of hours scouring the internet for free templates — copying and pasting a little bit here and a little bit there. But nothing truly protected all the aspects I needed. And who writes those anyway?!

Or maybe you’re using your favorite bloggers’ legal pages for inspiration?

Friend, that’s even worse! You know why? Because that’s plagiarism.

Yes, even a person’s legal policies are protected and considered their own intellectual property. Legal jargon is not my expertise. I’m not a lawyer, and I wouldn’t pretend to be one. So why was I wasting my time doing just that? Is that what you’re doing as well?

The moment we publish our blogs, our websites, our businesses, we need to have these legal notes in place. You should never go live without a privacy policy, disclaimer, or disclosures in place. Why? Because not only are you putting yourself and all of your hard work at risk, but it’s against the law.

Feel free to read more about that here.

Investing can be scary, especially when you don’t know if anything will pay off. But when you’re starting your own business, they’re negotiables and non-negotiables. This is one of those non-negotiables. When you purchase her templates, you’ll be glad you did.

She writes in a clear way that everyone can understand. And customizing the templates to your needs has never been easier. It must have taken me less than 20 minutes to get everything done. And with her smooth, clear cut instructions, I was never left wondering what to do.

Let me also share that since purchasing, there have been several BIG shifts and changes in the law.

    Hello, GDPR and CCPA.

I’m not gonna lie. I was a little nervous when all these changes were happening. Many people were. But, Amira kept her word (free updates) and updated the templates in a timely fashion to be sure her clients were protected in the best way.

And again, she made it stupid easy. (She even included the update right inside of the email for us lazy ones that couldn’t be bothered with logging into our account and downloading the new templates lol) It’s so straightforward and nearly effortless.

I can’t stress that enough and I’m certainly not overstating. (Amira has a ton of reviews to back it up) She’s the real deal — a lawyer by day, bada*s blogger by night. And as if all that wasn’t enough on its own, she has a private Facebook group (over 1,500 members) where you can get any help you need. If you find you do need it, she’s there, very active might I add.

(She doesn’t ghost you or leave you hanging after you buy) Blogging can be hard. Building a business can be hard. It’s reassuring to purchase products that make it easy. Grab your legal template bundle here now (< a deal for you)

    Growth Mindset Books for Kids

Growth mindset books for kids are a fantastic way to shift and reset their mindsets. At some point or another, every child will face challenges. Heck, even adults do. As an avid reader and book lover, I can’t begin to tell you how beneficial books are to our kids. Books provide a fun, thought-provocating, tangible way to understand people and the world around us. There is a ton of opportunity for your kids to read when they struggle with obstacles and negative thoughts.

One amazing way to support kids that think negatively is to help them develop a positive mindset. More specifically, a “growth mindset.” In short, a growth mindset helps us learn from our struggles to build perseverance, resilience, and confidence. Instead of viewing mistakes as a “bad” thing, we look at them as a marvelous mistake that helps us move forward!

Are you looking for more ways to cultivate a growth mindset in your kids? Sign up for my email list – where I share one parenting tip each week – and I’ll send you this growth mindset affirmations printout as a FREE gift. So, what exactly is a growth mindset again?

Parents and children with a growth mindset believe that they can GROW and improve anything with effort, hard work, and persistence. In essence, they think they can learn anything if they just KEEP TRYING. Families with a positive growth mindset think of failures as a challenge and a way to grow instead of a finite roadblock or dead end.

As you can see, it’s so important to empower our kids to make mistakes and “fail often.” It’s in those failures where we live, grow, and enjoy the journey.

Years ago, before the term “growth mindset” became the ever-growing buzzword of the decade, I noticed I had this recurring negative thinking going on. It was a fascinating thing! Somehow, no matter the situation, I could usually think or find a negative or pessimistic perspective. The gift of gloom, let’s say. Unfortunately, most of us develop these mindsets and attitudes as they are cultivated and passed down from our parent’s parenting.

    What’s a fixed mindset?

Well, if you’re a natural or newly developed pollyanna, then you’ll do great, Mama! But, if you’re not as I suspect or else, you wouldn’t be here reading this post, fret not. You can reframe your thoughts and leave negative nelly behind! I know because I’ve done it, and if i can, you certainly can too.

I know how important it is to lead well and parent well as those cute little munchkins watch you and take notes like an aggressive news reporter. LOL, Let’s break the cycle of negativity and help our kids develop a positive mindset.

Changing the way we talk to ourselves and our kids is the first step to putting a growth mindset into practice.

  • Safety Tips When Traveling by Train

Safety Tips When Traveling by Train

Taking a trip by train is a relaxing and economical way to get around. Even though train travel can take longer than traveling by car, trains are more affordable. Not only that – you don’t have to put yourself through a potentially long drive. But, when traveling by train, it’s essential to be mindful of your safety. Here are a few things you can do to keep yourself safe during a trip by train.

    Preparing for the Trip

There are many important factors that you need to consider during the preparation of your trip. Before purchasing your ticket, it is recommended that you research how the train system works in your destination area. You can find this information online or in a travel guidebook. There will be information on the different classes of travel, any discounts you may be eligible for, how to reserve seats, ticket validation, food, and drink availability, and travel accessibility.

    Luggage and Belongings

Before you start to pack, look into any baggage restrictions the train might have – especially if you plan on taking any large pieces of luggage with you. Also, don’t forget to pack a pillow, blanket, and entertainment for the journey.

Check to make sure that electrical outlets will be available during the trip before you pack anything that needs to be plugged in. Try to pack light, so your bag is easy to carry. If the trip is going to be a long one, it may be a good idea to pack food and drink as well.

    At the Station

The best way to keep your belongings safe at the train station is to keep them with you at all times. Carrying your cash and credit cards in a money belt keeps them on your person and makes them harder to steal. If you have to stay in the station for an extended period of time, make sure that you stay in well-lit areas near other passengers.

While waiting for your train, pay close attention to the announcements. If your platform is changed or your train is delayed, it is likely to be announced before it shows up on the departures board.

    On the Train

Once the train starts to move, make sure you hold onto a railing or seatback while walking around on the train. It’s hard to keep your balance while the train is moving, and you could fall without extra support.

Make sure that you keep an eye on your possessions at all times, just in case. Take any valuables that you can with you when you use the restroom and make sure that the rest are stowed in your compartment and out of sight. If it’s possible, keep your compartment locked while you’re sleeping, and sleep on top of your money belt to keep it safe.

A train trip can be a pleasant and memorable experience, as long as you keep yourself safe. Pack only what you will need and make sure you keep a close eye on it during the trip. But, also remember to relax and take the time to enjoy the ride.

  • Essential Life Skills You Need To Teach Your Daughter

Essential Life Skills You Need to Teach Your Daughter

When you are raising a girl, you want her to be independent and one day able to take care of herself and her own home. To be sure this happens, you should teach her some essential life skills. The following ones are things every girl (and boy) should know how to do.

    Basic Planting

An excellent skill to teach your daughter before she moves out on her own is basic planting and growing skills. If she can plant a seedling, that is good to learn how to do it. Many children will learn the basic skill during their early years of school, but you might want to give her a few more lessons when she gets a little older. Teach her how to plant a vegetable or herb garden, how to prune roses, and how to water plants and know which ones need watering. This can also be a fun activity for you and her.

    First Aid

It is good for every child to learn first aid, so teach your daughter some simple first aid techniques. She should know how to treat a bee sting, what to do when she gets a deep cut, and how to dress a burn or laceration. You want to know that when she is on her own, or when your daughter is younger and playing outside, she knows the basic rules of taking care of minor injuries and cuts. This ensures she can avoid infection and know how to take care of herself, as well as to know when she needs to go to the doctor or hospital.

    House Repairs

A good skill to start teaching your daughter when she is around 12 or 13 is how to take care of home repairs. She should know just minor things around the house that she might want to do on her own one day. For example, make sure your daughter knows how to clear a clogged sink or toilet, and how to use an auger instead of calling a plumber every time. She should know how to change light bulbs, put new batteries in the smoke detectors, and hammer nails. You might also want to teach her how to paint interior walls, as well.

    Finances

Another life skill your daughter should know how to do is to budget her money, pay bills, and balance her checkbook. A lot of this is now done online, but she also needs to know the basics of budgeting and how to save money. Teach her about saving at least 10 percent of her income and how to come up with a realistic budget and stick to it. This will definitely help her in the future.
